Introduction


Thank you for visiting Fields of Life Privacy Policy. We want you to know that your privacy whilst visiting our site is very important to us and we are committed to maintaining your privacy throughout your visit.

This Privacy Policy will outline the kind of information we may collect while you visit our Web site and how we use that information. When you voluntarily provide us with personal information, such as your name, address or an e-mail address, we treat this information with complete confidentiality. No personal information is ever sold, publicly posted or shared with other companies, organisations or websites, unless otherwise stated and made known to you, as our visitor.

Our mission statement: Fields of Life is a non profit, charitable organisation committed to changing lives and building sustainable communities in East Africa through teaching the Christian faith and through the provision of quality education, health care and income generating projects.

Information Collected From You


You control the use of your name and your personal information. There will be different areas on our website that allows you to enter personal information directly to us.  We will collect information such as name, address, telephone number, mobile number, e-mail address. In order for us to fulfil our mission statement, we maintain databases that are compiled exclusively of information knowingly and voluntarily provided by our donors and web site visitors.

We may use your information to contact you for your views on our work and to notify you occasionally about important changes or developments. Further, where you have consented, we may contact you by post, telephone, or via e-mail about the programmes to which you have previously supported or with which you have expressed an interest.  Fields of Life, however, limits its communication to our supporters in order to avoid pestering or imposing with frequent communication. At no time will Fields of Life spend e-mails which can (in any shape or form) be deemed as spam.  If you change your mind about being contacted in the future, please let us know, and the matter will be promptly attended to in either of our Irish offices. 

The website may contain information on our specific donors and the projects they are involved with; only if the charity is permitted to do so by the donor. Donor amounts and specific addresses with not be disclosed.

As many other organisations or companies do, we measure the performance of our web site to improve and customize it to better serve your needs. During your visit, we automatically collect the following information about your computer and your visit:

The domain and host from which you access the Internet
The Internet address of the Web site from which you linked directly to our site, if applicable
The date and time you arrived at our site and how long you spent on the site and which pages you visited
Your Internet protocol (IP) address and
Your computer's operating system and browser software

We may use third partiesto manage these performance measurements. However, in no event do we acquire information on the individual identity of any visitor. These third parties will be required to follow our privacy standards, to provide us only with total information, to use the information collected only for the purposes for which the third party was retained by us, and to then destroy the information.

You may have the option to register to our site. If you do, we may retrieve your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address. Nothing will happen if you choose not to submit this information except that you may not obtain the functionality or receive information you requested.

At any time upon your request, we will delete or modify personal information that you provided earlier. We will use personal information only for the purpose indicated to you when you provided it. We will not disclose, sell, rent or exchange this information to any other organization or entity unless you are first notified and expressly agree to it, or as otherwise required by law.

Site Visitorship Data


Fields of Life will gather data on Web site activity, such as how many people visit our Web site, the pages they visit and where they come from. Site visitorship data is collected on an aggregate, anonymous basis, which means no personal information is associated with this data.

Protection of Your Personal Information


If you make donations by credit card, your credit card details will not be stored on our servers:- they will be stored by our credit card payment provider PayPal on the basis of its own terms of use and privacy policy which can be accessed via the PayPal website.

Protection of Children's Privacy


At no time will children’s details (family, location, school, or personal details) be available to the public.  In instances such as the Child Sponsorship programme, details of the child being sponsored will only be made available to the sponsor in question.  Even in this instance, the child’s name, age, and school attended will be the only information supplied to the sponsor.  Such details as the family’s address and telephone number will not be made forthcoming and is, in fact, kept securely on file only in Uganda.  Conversely, at no time will Fields of Life release the sponsors contact details to the child, the child’s family, or the school to which the child attends.  Indeed, it is recommended that all communication from the child to the sponsor (and vice versa) be managed through the Fields of Life Northern Ireland or Dublin offices.  All correspondence that is forwarded to children from sponsors will have  addresses removed.

Cookies


A cookie is a small file that is put on your computer. This file identifies specific information about your visits to the site. Cookies can only be read, and therefore used, by our web servers. Our cookies do not save or store any personal information as such: they take the form of a unique numerical identifier that enables a computer, but not an individual, to be recognised. Cookies do not detect and cannot access any information you may have on your computer.

If you block the use of cookies, you may not be able to use some of the features on the our site.

Removal from FOL mailing list

If at any time during your interactions with Fields of Life, you feel that you do not wish future contact or correspondence, you may send an e-mail request to remove@fieldsoflife.com.  If you prefer to make this request via post, please consult Contact Us for the appropriate contact details.

Changes to the Privacy Policy


Any changes to our privacy policy in the future will be posted to the website and, where appropriate, through e-mail notification. Unless otherwise specified all such changes will take effect immediately upon posting to the website.
